CLOSING IS EASY (sort of)!
REOPENING IS HARD!
“We are open for dinner only 4-8pm every day until we can staff up for lunch and brunch. There is a new on-line take out menu. Happy Hour will be back soon!”
The actual closing of the restaurant was simple, locking away all of the liquor and wine, sharing all of the perishable food with our incredible staff and sending the rest to the Food Bank, cleaning up and locking the doors.
The not so easy part was saying “au revoir”, not goodbye, to our colleagues, our friends and family, because that’s who we are, a family. The scary part was that everything we had worked for our whole lives was in danger of disintegrating!
The next two months were spent listening to webinars about every subject that had anything to do with SBA financing, PPP loans, safety, new protocols, you name it we watched it! Many 1000-piece jigsaw puzzles helped with the stress! Waiting on loan approvals in this atmosphere of uncertainty took its toll, but here we are, open again, with a very different restaurant.
Our dining room and patio are very spacious with many less tables, no bar stools and dividers up between tables. There are signs reminding people to stay 6 feet apart, to wear masks when not at table, wipes and hand sanitizer all over the place, and our floor staff are decked out in all black with masks and gloves to match! Styling! Employee temperatures are taken before they start work. Handwashing is being done thoroughly and often. SAFETY IS THE NEW COOL!

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR ALL THE GOOD WISHES!
SEE YOU AT THE RIVER!
